Learn to Jog

10 Weeks, $10/person, 10 laps.  Thursday evenings from 6pm - 7pm, starting March 8 through May 10 (10 weeks) at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex, indoor walking track.

Goal: to be able to jog 10 laps around the track.

Candidate Information Session

The County of Essex, in partnership with local municipalities, is offering a Municipal Candidate Information Session for all those who would like more information about a future in political office. The Information Session will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Essex County Civic Centre (360 Fairview Ave. W., Essex, ON N8M 1Y6).

  • The information session is free to attend and will provide potential candidates with information regarding:
    • The role of local and County council
    • The role of municipal staff
    • The role of School Board trustees
    • Nominations and the eligibility to run
    • Candidate and third party advertiser rules and duties
    • General campaign rules and election finances
    • Compliance audits and penalties.
  • Potential candidates can find out more information about running in the upcoming election, the role of a municipal councillor, and will have a chance to speak with municipal staff to gain a greater understanding of the election process and role of local government.
  • The Information Session will feature speakers from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, and Mike Galloway (bio below), a Senior Municipal Leader, with both political and administrative experience.

Mike Galloway
A senior municipal leader for the past 20 years, Mike currently serves as Chief Administrative Officer in the Region of Peel, with the Town of Caledon. He brings his unique perspective to the topic of running for municipal elected office as he is also a former elected official who served two terms on City Council with the City of Kitchener. 

Big Hats & High Tea Social

The Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial is proud to host its fourth annual Big Hats & High Tea Social on April 29, 2018 at the Essex Golf & Country Club, proceeds will benefit programs in Windsor-Essex which support local women in areas of health, education, literacy and economic development.

This elegant and fun afternoon will feature a champagne reception, white glove high tea service with traditional high tea sandwiches and desserts, vintage china table settings, unique door prizes, designer purse raffles, and much more! This is the perfect event for all generations in the family to attend and a unique opportunity to celebrate Mother’s Day!
