Property Assessment Information

In 2016, the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) will be re-assessing all properties in Ontario. LaSalle residents can expect to receive their Property Assessment Notice starting August 8. Notices for business properties and farms will be mailed in the fall of 2016.

When you receive your Property Assessment Notice, review it. No further action is required on your part unless you have questions or you disagree with your assessed value and/or classification.

If a property owner disagrees with MPAC's assessment or classification of their property, they can file a Request for Reconsideration (RfR) and MPAC will review their assessment free of charge. The deadline to file a RfR for the 2017 tax year is December 6, 2016.

AboutMyProperty is a secure, online self-service application that provides property owners with convenient access to property assessment information. Through this service, you can access property assessment information, site information, lot size, and recent sales information on your property and similar neighbourhood properties of interest - free of charge. To access aboutmyproperty.ca, your unique Roll Number and Access Key are included on your 2016 Property Assessment Notice.

Complaints to the Assessment Review Board

You have the right to file a complaint about your assessment to the Assessment Review Board, an administrative quasi-judicial tribunal of the Province of Ontario. You must use the Notice of Complaint form, and submit it by March 31 with the appropriate attachments and fees to:

The Notice of Complaint Form, fee schedule, and general information about how to file a complaint can be obtained directly at Ontario government information centres, MPAC offices, municipal offices, and from the Assessment Review Board (ARB's) website at www.arb.gov.on.ca or by calling 1-800-263-3237 or 416-314-6900.

Town Hall hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
