Rogers Hometown Hockey makes its way to LaSalle on February 22 and 23, with a great weekend of FREE hockey-related activities, NHL Alumni appearances, music, and fun for the whole family! Save the date and join us at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex.

Join Ron MacLean and Tara Slone LIVE at the Vollmer Complex on Sunday, February 23 at 6:30 pm for the broadcast as they tell the stories that celebrate the hockey history and culture that put LaSalle on Canada's hockey map. Stick around to catch the Calgary Flames take on the Detroit Red Wings on the big screen.

How to Get Involved

Paint the Town Red - help us Paint the Town Red to celebrate our passion for hockey! LaSalle businesses are invited to take part in a contest to decorate your business or store front in a hockey and/or red theme. Chance to win a behind-the-scenes VIP package!

Photo Contest - Post your best hockey photo from today or yesterday on social media using #LaSalleHometownHockey, #hometownhockey and tag @TownofLaSalle and @reclasalle. Post your photo by Monday, Feb. 10. Prizes to be won!

Jersey Day - Wear any jersey on Friday, February 21 and share your photos on social media!

Volunteer - Members of the community are invited to volunteer at the event. Anyone interested is required to volunteer on both Saturday and Sunday (must be at least 16 years of age). Volunteers must be able to stand for the duration of shift, should have basic hockey knowledge, and should be energetic and comfortable working with the public. Activities include volunteering at the ball hockey rink, the popcorn booth and assisting the public with various hockey related games/activities. Interested individuals should email their contact info to hometownhockey@lasalle.ca

Parade of Champions - Calling all sports teams! Take part in the Rogers Hometown Hockey Parade of Champions on February 23 at 6:00 pm. Wear your jerseys and bring your team banner. Any and every team is welcome! Register your team at: hometownhockey@lasalle.ca

Bucks for Pucks - In the spirit of giving, schools are encouraged to donate bucks to support the LaSalle Food Bank and LaSalle Hangout for Youth! The school with the greatest amount of money raised (per capita) will win an exciting visit from Rogers Hometown Hockey.

Important Information regarding parking at the Vollmer Complex for the Rogers Hometown Hockey Event
February 20 – 24, 2020

Parking Lot 1 - Vollmer Front Parking Lot
The entire front parking lot will be CLOSED beginning Thursday, February 20 and will remain closed until 12 noon on Monday, February 24.

General Parking Information

Parking is limited and we anticipate that it may be challenging at times on Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23.  All the Vollmer parking lots (except Parking Lot 1)  will be open and cleared of snow during the event.  Watch for directional signs for additional parking available in the lots near the soccer fields and ball diamonds at the Vollmer Complex (parking lots 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7). If you park in a soccer field/ball diamond lot, the Vollmer Complex can be accessed by walking on the trails.  The trails will be cleared of snow during the event if required.  Parking is also available and allowed at Sandwich Secondary School during the event.

Parking Lot 2 - Vollmer South Parking Lot (near the Gary L. Parent Rink)

The south parking lot will be one way for traffic on Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23.  Directional signage will be posted and security will be onsite enforcing and monitoring traffic flow.

Drop-off Zone

The semi-circle in front of the Vollmer Complex (near the concession/food court doors) will be a drop-off zone on Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23.  This can be used to drop-off children and/or equipment.  Security will be monitoring this area, and stopping will only be permitted to drop-off.  Idling or leaving vehicles will not be allowed. Parents who are dropping children off for the Parade of Champions on Sunday are encouraged to use this area.

FREE Shuttle Service

A continuous FREE shuttle service will run from Windsor Crossing Premium Outlets (1555 Talbot Road) to the LaSalle Civic Centre (5950 Malden Road) to the Vollmer Complex (2121 Laurier Parkway) and back throughout the event. There will be signs posted at the pick-up locations at each site. The shuttle will start at noon at Windsor Crossing both days. The entire route will take about 30 minutes. LaSalle Transit will be operating FREE service on their regular route and schedule on Saturday, February 22.
