Accessibility Standards for Customer Service

Accessible customer service is about understanding that people with disabilities may have different needs.

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act was passed by the Ontario legislature with the goal of creating standards to improve accessibility across the province. The Act allows the government to develop specific standards of accessibility designed to make Ontario more accessible in a number of areas: customer service, employment, information and communications, transportation and built environment. The first specific standard to be developed deals with customer service. The Town's Accessible Customer Service Policy (pdf) provides for service delivery in a way that preserves the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities.

How can you provide feedback?

The Corporation of the Town of LaSalle is committed to providing high quality goods and services in an accessible manner to all members of the public it serves. Public input is welcome as it helps to identify areas that require change and encourages continuous service improvements.
