The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) launched their active tick surveillance program on Friday, May 13, 2022. This involves the identification and testing of ticks that are collected by public health staff. The field surveillance is conducted at public parks and trails that are frequently used by residents to retrieve local data of tick populations.

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is pleased to announce that individuals interested in becoming a certified food handler now have the opportunity to write their exam in one of several locations in Windsor-Essex County: Leamington, Amherstburg, LaSalle and Windsor. These examination opportunities will support individuals seeking employment and those currently employed in the food service sector in obtaining their food handler certification.

The annual hydrant maintenance program will take place over the next couple of weeks in LaSalle in the following areas:
Area 23 - Old Front Road to Matchette Road, Morton Drive to Turkey Creek.
