LaSalle resident Al Matchett attended the April 28 Council meeting where Mayor Ken Antaya unveiled a plaque that will be on display at the LaSalle Civic Centre. The plaque honours Alfred Matchett who was a pioneer of Ojibway, and responsible for the opening of Matchett Road.
A meeting room at the LaSalle Civic Centre has been named the "Matchett Room". The plaque is on display outside of the Matchett Room, located on the second floor of the LaSalle Civic Centre.

LaSalle won 2 awards from the Lifesaving Society for our aquatics programs. Mayor Ken Antaya, along with Morgan Oliver, Aquatics Team Leader I, and Julie Augustine, Supervisor of Programming, received the awards from Kenn Little of the Lifesaving Society at the April 28 LaSalle Council Meeting.
