front of municipal building

The Town of LaSalle is continuing the process with Stantec Consulting Ltd. to prepare a Stormwater Master Plan (SWMP). This project will review the drainage system with a direct connection/discharge point into the Detroit River. An associated Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study is part of the process.

The main objective of the SWMP is to identify opportunities for potential infrastructure enhancements and improvements to protect public and private property from the effects of stormwater flooding while preserving the natural environment. The project will be undertaken in three Stages, with each Stage covering a different stormwater catchment area within the Town.

A drop-in Public Information Centre (PIC) #2 will be held in-person on:

Wednesday, June 29, 2022
4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
LaSalle Civic Centre, 5950 Malden Road

PIC #2 will focus on the improvements to the Stage 1 catchment area of Front Road between Turkey Creek and Gary Avenue. The information available at the PIC will include an overview of the study, alternative solutions, evaluation criteria and next steps.

In addition to the in-person PIC, all the study materials are available on the PlaceSpeak platform. Administration encourages public feedback about the study. Comments on PIC #2 materials are being accepted from June 29 to July 29. Visit the Studies and Special Projects page on our website at review the information and provide your comments.

To participate on PlaceSpeak, the participant will need to create a PlaceSpeak account. This account only needs to be created once, and then the participant will have access to other Town of LaSalle consultation projects, as well as any other projects that are posted to PlaceSpeak. The participant’s address is never displayed to other users or the administrators of the consultation. Addresses are collected to allow the administrators to know where respondents live.
