The Province of Ontario, Emergency Management Ontario (EMO), requires all communities to have an Emergency Management Program. Program requirements include the designation of an emergency management coordinator, the writing of an emergency response plan and the formation of a program committee. EMO monitors compliance and supports ministries and municipalities in maintaining the required program. The Town of LaSalle:

- Emergency Management Planning Committee Meeting November 2020
- Emergency Management Planning Committee Meeting June 2021
- Emergency Management Planning Committee Meeting September 2022

- Identifies critical infrastructure
- Completes annual training and exercises
- Develops and implements public awareness campaigns

Emergency Preparedness Week
May 5 to 11, 2024
To celebrate Emergency Preparedness Week, the LaSalle Fire Service encourages you to ''be prepared and know your risks' by completing these three steps throughout the week:
Step 1: Make A Plan
In an emergency, your family may not be together, or you may be asked to evacuate your home. Thinking about what you would do in different situations and preparing a plan with every member of your family is the first step to being prepared.

Step 2: Build An Emergency Kit
Your emergency survival kit should have everything you and your family would need to be safe and take care of yourselves for at least three days immediately following an emergency.

Step 3: Stay Informed
During an emergency, you should stay tuned to local news channels. Be sure to have a portable, battery-operated or crank radio in your survival kit in case of power outages. Look for official information from the Town’s Facebook and Twitter account.
