Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex, Riverdance Community Centre, Programs/Rentals at Local Schools during COVID-19

The Town of LaSalle is re-opening the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex in phases. Starting on Monday, March 1, 2021 the Town will phase-in ice users affiliated with a Provincial Sport Organization, beginning with Skate LaSalle. Administration will work with the other regular user groups following the prioritization of bookings, as outlined in the Town of LaSalle Arena Use Policy. At this time, there is one ice pad available.

On Monday, March 15, the Vollmer Fitness Centre will reopen for appointment based use. In-person group exercise classes will also resume at this time, and will need to be booked in advance. Appointments can be made beginning on March 8. Fitness memberships that are currently on hold will continue to be on hold until reactivated by the member. Anyone wishing to reactivate a membership can do so by calling 519-969-7771, ext. 0. Virtual programs and exercise classes will continue to be offered as well.

On Monday, March 29, 2021, the pool will reopen for lap swims, water walking and aquafit only. Patrons will need to book use by appointment in advance starting on March 22.

Please note that under the current restrictions and legislation, the Province has provided for an ‘emergency brake’ allowing medical officers of health and the provincial officials to implement restrictions rapidly. Should changes to the schedule occur, Town administration will contact those patrons with appointments and provide information as quickly as possible on the Town’s website and social media pages.

The Town of LaSalle is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our staff and patrons, and under the Red-Control level, there are limitations on recreation services including the number of patrons allowed into the building at one time.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to make adjustments based on the current COVID-19 conditions in the Windsor-Essex County area, and the public health advice that we receive from the province and the WECHU.

As a reminder, the Culture and Recreation Department continues to offer virtual programming. More information about virtual programs can be found on the Town’s website at lasalle.ca/register
