Outdoor Fields

As of June 11, 2021, soccer fields and ball diamonds will be open for rental by organized groups following the provincial guidelines for use. Other than soccer fields and ball diamonds, the Town of LaSalle is not accepting rental requests for any other municipal facilities.

Outdoor Pool

The LaSalle Outdoor Pool, located on Front Road at Laurier Drive, will open on July 5, 2021 for adult length swims, aquafitness, recreation swims and lifeguarding programs. Registration for all programs is required in advance and access will be limited based on medical health guidelines.

Registration is free for adult length swims, aquafitness and recreation swims. Currently, capacity limits will be:

  • adult length swims, 4 people
  • aquafitness, 5 people
  • recreation swims, 10 people (each family member must be registered)

Capacities may be increased depending on future COVID-19 public health guidelines. Registration for the week of July 5 begins on Monday, June 28. Registration will be accepted one week prior to the programs. Visit lasalleactive.ca to register and to access the schedule for each program.  

Lifeguarding programs including Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross and National Lifeguard will run in two-week long sessions through July and August. These will be a mix of online sessions and in-person sessions at the LaSalle Outdoor Pool. Registration for all sessions begins on June 28 at lasalleactive.ca and each will be capped at a maximum of 10 participants.  Any credits on account at the Vollmer Complex may be applied to the registration fee for the lifeguarding classes.

LaSalle Outdoor Pool User Guidelines

  • Patrons are to arrive showered with their bathing suit on under their clothes.
  • Patrons will enter the large gate off Laurier Drive where a screening tent will be set up.
  • Washrooms and changerooms are available and can be used during and at the end of the swim session.
  • Masks are required in common areas where physical distancing may not be maintained and while inside the changerooms (ex. while approaching the screening tent, on the pool deck and in the changerooms). Masks are not required while in the pool.
  • Patrons will exit through the changerooms and will be able to change out of their wet swimsuit. Showers will not be available.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water thoroughly and often.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Cover mouth and nose with a tissue or use the inside of your elbow when you cough or sneeze.
  • Stay home and do not go to the pool if you are sick. 

Splash Pad

The splash pad at the Vollmer Complex is open daily. Wash your hands well before and after using the splash pad. The splash pad is open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm unsupervised. Parents/guardians must always supervise their children. Please be kind and share the space with others. Limit your time to 15 minutes of splash pad play when others are waiting. Splash pad touch points will be sanitized twice each day. The washrooms are open. As per the guidelines of the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, the washrooms are cleaned and disinfected at least twice per day. The outdoor concession is closed.

Summer Day Camps

Based on the limited numbers of participants allowed and the strict guidelines, summer day camp will not be offered by the Town of LaSalle this year. Town administration is in the process of making plans to host free family virtual and outdoor summer programming. Details will be released as plans are developed.

Indoor Programs and Services

Indoor programs and services (arena, fitness centre, aquatic centre) at the Vollmer Complex will begin in Step 3 of the Province of Ontario’s Reopening Plan currently estimated to begin at the end of July. Town administration is in the process of determining the stages of re-opening at the Vollmer Complex and more information will be shared as details become available.
