Arena Users

Each person, aged 12 years and older who attends the indoor area of a recreation complex must provide identification and proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or a valid medical exemption.

Please note that some provincial sport organizations may have stricter or other requirements in place that will need to be followed. Check with your sport organization for more information.

Proof of Identity and Proof of Vaccine

According to the Province of Ontario, all versions of the vaccine receipt are acceptable as proof of vaccination (ex. printed copy or emailed version). The receipt must show that patrons are fully vaccinated. Photocopies of proof of vaccination and ID will be accepted.
Proof of vaccination will be accepted if the person’s name and date of birth on their identification document matches the vaccination receipt with name and date of birth and if the person is fully vaccinated.

Identification documents can be one of the following (photo ID is not required): Birth Certificate, Citizenship Card, Driver’s Licence, Government (Ontario or other) issued identification card including health card, Indian Status Card /Indigenous Membership Card, Passport, and/or Permanent Resident Card.

In instances where the age of a youth is not immediately obvious, identification may be requested to determine eligibility for exemption from vaccine requirements.

Both the vaccination certificate and proof of identity will need to be shown each time upon entering the building. The enhanced vaccine certificate will replace both of these documents when it is released by the province of Ontario (expected October 22, 2021).

Please note that the process of reviewing documents at the entrances may cause some wait time to get into the complex.

Children in Facility Without Guardians

Children 10 and older can enter the Vollmer Complex without adult supervision to attend their organized sport or program. If your child is under 10 and you are not accompanying them into the complex, we suggest that you send them into the building with another vaccinated adult.

Proof of vaccination is not required for parents or guardians who are escorting a child under 10 years of age to/from a program in which the child is actively participating. These patrons are required to leave the facility promptly after dropping off or picking up a child. Failure to immediately leave the facility may result in loss of facility privileges. Being on time for drop-off and pick-up is especially important under these guidelines.

Masks

Masks must be worn at all times in the facility. It can be removed in certain circumstances based on the activity.

Medical Exemptions

Patrons who provide a written document, completed and supplied by a physician (designated as “MD”) or by a registered nurse in the extended class (designated as “Registered Nurse (Extended Class)”, “RN(EC)”, “Nurse Practitioner” or “NP”) stating that the individual is exempt for a medical reason from being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and the effective time-period for the medical reason. Patrons with a medical exemption are required to present identification and a written document stating the individual is exempt for a medical reason to the business or organization. Visit the Province of Ontario’s Proof of Vaccination Guidance for the specific requirements for a medical exemption.

Negative Tests

According to the Province, a negative COVID-19 test or recent COVID-19 infection will not entitle a person to enter these settings.
