Boat Ramp

Boat RampThe Town of LaSalle Boat Ramp is located at Gil Maure Park, at the corner of Front Road and Laurier Drive. There are two ramps available. The Boat Ramp is operational, weather permitting, from April 1 to October 15.

Starting on Monday, June 22, 2020, the Town of LaSalle will resume charging for use of the boat ramp.  An attendant will be on site daily. Payments can be made using debit and/or credit only.  No cash will be accepted.

The LaSalle Boat Ramp, located at Gil Maure Park on Front Road, was closed to the public at the beginning of boating season due to the COVID-19 restrictions imposed as part of the Province of Ontario’s State of Emergency, as well as the Town of LaSalle’s State of Emergency. Some of the provincial restrictions began to be lifted in mid-May, and the boat ramp was opened on May 16.

At the time, work was being completed on the boat ramp, and the Town was unsure if the boat ramp would remain open based on the fluctuating water levels. As a result, the boat ramp was opened without charging any user fees. Town administration is now ready to resume regular operation of the boat ramp including charging a daily or seasonal pass rate, opening the washrooms, and having an attendant on site to accept payment and assist with parking.

The washrooms will be opened daily and will be cleaned twice throughout the day; once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Due to physical distancing guidelines, only two people should be in either washroom at any time. The boat ramp attendants will not assist with launching boats.

The boat ramp fees for the remainder of 2020 (non-refundable) are as follows:

  • $13.00 daily rate
  • $75.00 for an annual pass for seniors (55 years of age and over)
  • $100.00 for annual pass (under 55 years of age)

Due to COVID-19, it is important to continue to follow the advice of the public health officials:

  • Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • Avoid touching mouth, nose and eyes
  • Keep a physical distance of at least 2m from other people
  • Wear a face covering if physical distancing is challenging

Please respect physical distancing guidelines when interacting with the boat ramp attendant and while using the washroom facilities. Thank you for your cooperation.

High Water Levels

LaSalle, as well as areas in Essex County and Windsor, continue to be under a Flood Watch as issued by the Essex Region Conservation Authority.

Front Road, and the streets west of Front Road, may experience overland flooding during rainfall events and/or in cases of high winds, wind speed and wind direction. In some cases, it is likely that the LaSalle Boat Ramp and parking lot will experience flooding. Please note that the boat ramp may be closed on short notice should flooding occur.
