Transit Master Plan

The Town of LaSalle is developing a Transit Master Plan to review how LaSalle Transit Route 25 works today and how it should evolve over the next five years. The Plan will help guide the future for transit services to identify better alignment of strategies and services and future opportunities to meet community needs.

More than 150 residents and community partners shared feedback during the first round of public engagement in February and March 2026. Combined with technical analysis, this input helped shape a set of proposed service concepts that are now being shared with the community for further feedback.

The Town is now launching Round 2 of public engagement, focused on refining the recommendations. The draft concepts will help shape the Town’s fixed route (LaSalle 25), as well as other service concepts. The community is invited to review and provide feedback on:

  • proposed changes to Route 25,
  • preferences for on-demand transit service, and
  • on future service levels and related costs.

Public input from this round will help refine the proposed network and service concepts that will share the final Transit Master Plan presented to Council. Watch a video to learn more about the proposed changes and concepts. Learn more about the LaSalle Transit Operations 2026 Budget Breakdown.

Representatives from Left Turn Right Turn and Town administration will be hosting a public open house in the lobby at the Vollmer Centre on Monday, June 15 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, or 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. All are welcome.

Engagement Round 2

June to July 2026

August to December 2026

Background

In December 2025, the Town of LaSalle engaged Left Turn Right Turn, an Ontario-based firm, to lead the process to develop a Transit Master Plan. This Plan will develop the direction for LaSalle Route 25 over the next five years.

Transit service has exceeded the expectations of the Town since it was introduced in 2017. More people are using transit, showing the value and need of transit service in the community. Beyond this growth, the context, relevance and possibilities of public transit have changed since the system first started. By understanding these broader changes, the Town can better align their strategies and services and anticipate future opportunities between LaSalle Transit and neighbouring systems.

What the Plan will do:

  • Review of the current transit system
  • Identify needs, challenges and gaps
  • Recommend ways to improve services
  • Ensure transit reflects the needs and priorities of residents, user groups and staff.
