Hello residents of LaSalle, 

Summer is well underway, and I am sure most of you are looking forward to the Civic holiday long weekend ahead, on Monday, August 4.

If you plan to staycation and are looking for some fun activities to do throughout the summer, here are a few ideas for you. Take a stroll or bike ride through the beautiful LaSalle Trails, check out the new amenities at LaSalle Landing —The Rotary Circle, and The Loop. Don’t forget your bathing suit to fully enjoy the water feature at The Rotary Circle!

Play at the over twenty playgrounds around LaSalle, try a few you have not visited yet, or cool off at the splash pad at the Vollmer Complex. Get active at the many courts around LaSalle with a fun or competitive game of pickleball, tennis, volleyball, or basketball. LaSalle Parks

August LaSalle Night Market

The August LaSalle Night Market is on Sunday, August 31, at the LaSalle Civic Centre, 5950 Malden Road. Enjoy delicious food, shop the many vendor booths, and take in some live entertainment. Each market offers many of your favourites while also including new things to discover. The market is open from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. More information available at LaSalle Markets

Canoe and Kayak Docks

Canoe and kayak paddlers can find launch docks available at Vince Marcotte Park, north of the pedestrian bridge over Turkey Creek, at the Vollmer Complex retention pond, Riverdance at LaSalle Landing waterfront, and River Canard Park (bring your own equipment).

LaSalle Boat Ramp

Located along the Detroit River at Front Road and Laurier Drive, the LaSalle Boat Ramp gives access to summer fun on the water. Don’t forget to ensure you have a seasonal or day pass. Check in with the boat ramp attendant who is on-site daily from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, weather permitting.

Civic Holiday Closure

The LaSalle Civic Centre and the Vollmer Centre will be closed for the upcoming Civic Holiday on Monday, August 4. Many Town staff will be enjoying much deserved time off during the closures, but residents can send a request to staff anytime by using the Customer Service Portal.

Enjoy the summer and spending time outdoors, while taking in the many wonderful sights and amenities LaSalle has to offer.
