Message from Mayor Meloche - June 28, 2024
Hello residents of LaSalle,
At the Regular Meeting of Council on Tuesday evening, three firefighters were recognized with long service medals. Fire Prevention Officer, Captain Mike Wiley and Firefighter Jason Shinkar were presented with the 20 year Provincial Fire Service Exemplary Service Medal. Firefighter Randy Curtis was presented with the Provincial Fire Service Long Service 30 year bar.
Congratulations on behalf of Council and Administration. Twenty and thirty years of service is definitely something to celebrate. We thank you for your service to our community.
Outdoor Pool - Free Swimming!
The LaSalle outdoor pool, on Front Road at Laurier Drive, opens this weekend, on Sunday, June 30. Enjoy free recreational swimming daily from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Registration is recommended. View all the programming offered at the outdoor pool this summer!
Indoor Drop-In Pickleball
Indoor drop-in pickleball sessions are scheduled to take place from Tuesday, July 2 to Thursday, August 29, at the Event Centre, 970 Front Road.
Morning, afternoon and some evening sessions are open to the public. The LaSalle Pickleball Association will be holding the remainder of the evening sessions.
LaSalle Night Market - June 30
The June LaSalle Night Market is taking place this coming Sunday, June 30. With over 80 vendors, food, and entertainment there will be something for everyone. Invite your friends, family, and neighbours to venture
The markets are scheduled throughout the summer on the last Sunday of the month until September. Mark your calendar now to ensure you don’t miss out on all the fun.
LaSalle Transit Summer Saver
The LaSalle Transit Summer Saver Pass is a 2-month pass for youth (ages 13 to 19). It provides savings during the summer months. The $126.00 unlimited ride pass can be used to ride the LaSalle 25 bus in July and August. Visit the LaSalle Transit web page for more details
Lastly, I would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family and community of Carly, Madison, and Hunter Walsh. On behalf of Council, Administration and the residents of LaSalle, our hearts go out to all of you after such a tragedy that has touch many people across Windsor Essex County.
