Road Closures
We have two closures to be aware of on our roads: the Turkey Creek Bridge Rehabilitation project, which is a two-month closure, and the Matchett Sprucewood intersection improvements, which should be about a one-month closure. Visit our Public Works web page for more information, including detour details, or check our news page.
Border Mayors Alliance
I, along with all mayors in Essex County, have joined the Border Mayors Alliance. The group is co-chaired by City of Windsor Mayor, Drew Dilkens, and advocates on behalf of Canadian border municipalities for policies that promote fair and stable trade.
Canada and the United States have achieved the most successful relationship any two nations have ever known. Windsor-Essex was ranked third on a list by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce to be the most vulnerable Canadian cities to U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs. This is very concerning to all of us.
We are united as Canadian border mayors to protect economic interests. Through collaboration with industry leaders, government partners, and American counterparts, we are taking decisive action to protect cross-border trade and local livelihoods. Now is the time to stand together and defend one of the world’s most vital trade relationships.
