Building Permit Process Ensures Safety, Compliance, and Timely Service

The Town of LaSalle is committed to maintaining safe, well-regulated construction and demolition activities across the municipality. Our Building Division diligently enforces the Ontario Building Code, municipal by-laws, and the Municipal Act to uphold public safety and responsible development. 

What You Need to Know

• Building Permits are required for all new construction, structural alterations, additional residential units, and septic system modifications. 
• Demolition Permits are required for structures larger than 107 ft² (apart from farm buildings) and include mandatory inspections to ensure safe practices.
• Download the Application for a Permit to Construct or Demolish and review the checklist of required documents—site plan, foundation plans, elevations, and more. 

Residents and contractors are strongly encouraged to consult the Building Division team at 519-969-7770 ext. 1245 or email building@lasalle.ca to confirm whether a permit is needed and to ensure a smooth application. Tent installations may require additional engineering certified plans depending on size and use.
