Message from Mayor Meloche - July 11, 2025

mayor and trail

Hello residents of LaSalle,

I want to start by reflecting on what a wonderful holiday weekend we had here in the Town of LaSalle. We held our ribbon cutting ceremony in partnership with Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial at the Rotary Circle at LaSalle Landing, and it was very well attended. We hosted a fantastic Night Market on Sunday, June 29. It’s a growing success—every month it gets bigger and bigger.

And then we followed it with the LaSalle Canada Day Celebration, the first large-scale event at The Loop at LaSalle Landing, with a spectacular drone show to end the evening. It was a massive celebration, and a huge success. It was incredible to see the Event Centre as well as the Rotary Circle being used together, and it really made the area come alive. We’ve estimated there were approximately 5,000 people in attendance, which is amazing. It was a powerful moment for our community. I want to thank administration for pulling it off in such a short amount of time, we did a wonderful thing for our community by showing our pride in being Canadian.

Front Road Storm Sewer Reconstruction Begins

The project is set to begin the week of July 14, starting with work on Adams Lane. Major traffic delays are expected to begin closer to August as the project moves forward. The reconstruction area includes Front Road from Reaume Road to Boismier Avenue. Lane restrictions will be in place into December - and open for winter season. Lane restrictions will occur again in early 2026. Project expected to wrap up by spring 2026. We encourage drivers to begin planning alternate routes or leave extra travel time. For more information, visit Public Works Projects.

Free Recreational Swims at Outdoor Pool

The outdoor pool is now open, with free recreational swims daily from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Registration is recommended to ensure your spot. Visit LaSalle Outdoor Pool.
