Message from Mayor Meloche - November 17, 2025

November 17, 2025
Hello residents of LaSalle,
I want to take a moment to acknowledge the importance of this week, a time when communities across Canada pause to remember. Remembrance Day is more than a date on the calendar, it’s a reminder of the immense cost of the freedoms we enjoy: the freedom to speak, to serve, and to shape the future of our community together. Those who served did so not for recognition, but for the hope that future generations could live in peace.
Many never came home, and those that did carried invisible burdens that stayed long after battles ended. Their courage continues to echo through the choices we make as leaders and neighbours. It reminds us to act with gratitude, to listen with compassion, and to serve with integrity.
I want to thank everyone who joined us for our annual LaSalle Remembrance Day Ceremony on Tuesday, November 11, at Cenotaph Park. The ceremony was held in partnership with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594. View the 2025 LaSalle Remembrance Day Ceremony on YouTube.
I would also like to take a moment to recognize LaSalle Firefighter Kevin Semande, who concluded his distinguished career on November 6, 2025, after more than 30 years of exemplary service with LaSalle Fire. Kevin has been a steady and trusted presence within our Town, and we wish him the best in his well deserved retirement.
Mondays with the Mayor
The upcoming Mondays with the Mayor is on Monday, November 17, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Town of LaSalle Civic Centre, 5950 Malden Road. I invite members of our community to meet with me in person and to share ideas or ask questions.

We invite you to join Members of LaSalle Council and Administration on Monday, November 17, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Vollmer Centre Lobby, 2121 Laurier Parkway.
