Message from the Mayor

Hello residents of LaSalle,

The LaSalle Police Board held the Change of Command and Swearing-In Ceremony this past Monday. Congratulations to retiring Chief Davies and to our new chief, Chief Pearce. We wish you both the very best on your new paths.

This is the first time the Town of LaSalle has planned this type of event. A special thank you to LaSalle Police Services Board secretary and many Town of LaSalle staff members who helped plan this new event. A video of the ceremony will be shared on the Town of LaSalle YouTube channel at a later date.

Emergency Training Session

Last week the Town of LaSalle held an emergency training session, a mock cyber security threat. It was a realistic tabletop exercise to test the plan and help staff feel confident and comfortable in their roles. Thank you, LaSalle Fire Service for organizing a great exercise.

LaSalle Truck or Treat

The spooktacular LaSalle Truck or Treat event is back for the 5th year. This is a fun, kid-friendly event that is held outdoors at the Vollmer Complex the Saturday closest to Halloween weekend each year.

Wear a costume, explore the lineup of vehicles, visit with the fire and police services, and collect candy and goodies along the way. Entrance fee is $3.00 per child. Parents and guardians are free to enter. For full details visit the Truck or Treat page on our website.

Last Boat Ramp

The LaSalle Boat Ramp at LaSalle Landing is closing for the season on Tuesday, October 15. After that date there will not be an attendance on-site at the ramp. We will post the opening dates in the spring on our website.

Howard Bouffard Area Future Development—Public Meeting

A Statutory Public Meeting is being held on Tuesday, October 29 at 4:30 pm, in Council Chambers, to share information with the public and to hear comments about the Howard Bouffard Secondary Plan (HBSP).

The proposed HBSP is a roadmap for how the Howard Bouffard area will grow in the future. Public consultation is essential to the HBSP and the Planning and Development Department is looking forward to hearing your feedback. The public can register to attend a meeting, speak at a meeting, and submit written comments to be included in the Council Agenda. Visit the Howard Bouffard Secondary Plan web page for full details and to find out more on how to participate.

The next regular meeting of LaSalle Council is Tuesday, October 22. Join us in person or watch along on the Town’s YouTube channel. Looking for a previous meeting? You can find them on YouTube.
