Notice of 2026 LaSalle Municipal and School Board Election

Municipal Elections in Ontario are held every four years on the fourth Monday of October. The upcoming Municipal Election will be held Monday, October 26, 2026.

NOTICE is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Town of LaSalle that the next regular Municipal and School Board Election to elect a Mayor, Deputy Mayor, five (5) at-large Councillors, and School Board Trustees is on October 26, 2026. The new term of Council begins November 15, 2026, and ends November 14, 2030.
On June 10, 2025, Town of LaSalle Council passed By-law 2025-054 to authorize the use of internet voting for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election. The electronic election method ensures that eligible electors can participate in an accessible, convenient, safe and environmentally friendly method of voting. This method of election was used to conduct the 2025 Municipal By-Election.
In accordance with section 17(2) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, a person is entitled to be an elector at an election held in a local municipality if on voting day they;
- reside in the local municipality or are the owner or tenant of land there, or are the spouse of such owner or tenant;
- are a Canadian citizen;
- are at least 18 years old; and
- are not otherwise prohibited from voting by law.
Eligible Electors and Online Voting
If you are a resident, owner, or tenant of property in LaSalle, a Canadian citizen, and at least 18 years of age, you can vote in the 2026 LaSalle Municipal and School Board Election. Check, update, or add your information to the Municipal Voters’ List through Elections Ontario at www.registertovoteon.ca.
Eligible electors should expect to receive a Voter Information Letter (VIL) at the beginning of October and will be able to begin electronically casting their ballots when the voting period begins on October 16, 2026, at 10:00 am until the voting period ends on October 26, 2026, at 8:00 pm. Ballots can only be cast electronically using a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Voter Help Centre
To provide eligible electors with electronic voting assistance during the voting period or to make changes to personal information on the Voters’ List, a Voter Help Centre will be located inside of the LaSalle Civic Centre, 5950 Malden Road. The hours of operation for the Voter Help Centre will be posted online at www.lasalle.ca/election.
