The Loop Comes to Life - Join Us for a Magical Grand Opening

The Town of LaSalle is thrilled to invite the community to the Grand Opening of The Loop on Friday, November 28, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at LaSalle Landing, 1010 Front Road, (next to the Event Centre).

The Loop is a multi-use skate and recreational trail at the LaSalle Landing waterfront in LaSalle. The trail is part of the redevelopment of the waterfront area located along the Heritage Detroit River. It is transforming the area into a vibrant, year-round destination.

The Grand Opening is a special evening marking the official opening of The Loop at LaSalle Landing, and kicking off the winter season with entertainment, and festive fun for all ages.

“The Loop is more than just a skate trail—it’s a place for families and friends to come together and enjoy the beauty of our waterfront in every season,” said Mayor Crystal Meloche. “We are excited to celebrate this new addition to LaSalle and look forward to welcoming everyone for an evening of winter fun.”

The celebration begins at 6:00 pm with an incredible Fire Show by HoopYou, guaranteed to light up the night with thrilling and mesmerizing performances. Discover enchanting Snowflake Fairies with glowing wings, spreading sparkle and winter magic throughout The Loop.

Join Mayor Crystal Meloche and LaSalle Council for the official ribbon cutting at 6:30 pm. Following the ribbon cutting, the community is invited to ice skate (weather permitting), and stroll on the sidewalk along the outside of The Loop. Join Canadian Beat Boxer Scott Jackson and local groups including Skate LaSalle, the LaSalle Vipers, and the LaSalle Minor Hockey Association. 

Throughout the evening, families can enjoy a variety of winter festivities. Visit with Santa and share your Christmas wish list. Face painting, balloon twisting, roaming Snow Sisters and other holiday characters will add to the magic. Local magician Ron Gudel will amaze guests at the Holiday Magic Station. Stop by the Seasons Retirement Home booth to pick up a holiday treat, while supplies last.

No celebration is complete without delicious treats. Enjoy your favourite food truck delights. Warm up with a hot drink from Montaneros Coffee, choose your favourites from The GOAT, or indulge in a sweet pastry from BeaverTails.
