Town of LaSalle Reminds Residents of Rules for Parks and Open Spaces Under New Parks By-law

Town of LaSalle’s parks and open spaces are places to relax, play, and connect with nature and one another. To help keep these shared spaces safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone, the Town of LaSalle is reminding residents and visitors that updated rules are now in effect under Parks By-law 2025-097.
These guidelines are in place to protect park spaces and ensure everyone can enjoy them responsibly:
Wheeled Devices
Wheeled devices are allowed in Town parks and open spaces, but they must be used safely and respectfully. Wheeled devices include:
-

-
Roller skates and inline skates
-
Skateboards
-
Electronically powered bicycles and scooters

Non-motorized scooters
Please ride with care. Always be mindful of others and avoid blocking paths, causing inconvenience, or putting anyone at risk. Travel at a safe speed, especially in areas shared with pedestrians.
If you’re riding after sunset or before sunrise, your device must be clearly visible. This includes:
-
A white front light
-
A red rear light (steady or flashing)
-
A red rear reflector
Parents and caregivers are encouraged help children and youth ride responsibly and use proper safety equipment.
Fires and Barbecues
To help keep parks safe and enjoyable for everyone, fires and barbecues are not allowed in any park or open space. This includes all fires and bonfires, as well as any type of barbecue, whether it uses charcoal, briquettes, or propane tanks. These rules are in place to reduce fire risk and help protect park spaces.
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Vaping
Alcohol, tobacco, and vaping are not allowed.
This includes possessing, drinking, serving, or selling alcoholic, as well as smoking, vaping, or using hookahs.
