Certified Results - 2026 LaSalle Municipal and School Board Election

On the morning of Tuesday, October 27, 2026, the Town of LaSalle identified a discrepancy in the number of votes that were revealed on Monday night after the Municipal and School Board Election. Members of administration have been working closely with the election software vendor, Comitia, to investigate the situation.

It has been discovered that votes cast at the Voter Help Centres were counted twice in the results released on Monday. The election results listed on the Town’s website are the Certified Results for the 2026 LaSalle Municipal and School Board Election which do not change who the Town orignally reported as being elected. The number of eligible voters was 29,277. The number of ballots cast was 12,343, resulting in a voter turnout of approximately 42%.

The following is the statement that the Town of LaSalle received from Comitia:

Following the election, a discrepancy was identified in information provided to the Town of LaSalle.

Comitia confirms that the election results recorded in the voting platform were calculated correctly and accurately reflect the ballots cast. The raw results report provided to the Town reflects those results.

The discrepancy affected information that was displayed and subsequently provided to the Town. It did not alter the underlying ballots or the election results calculated from those ballots. The integrity and accuracy of the underlying election records and results were therefore not affected by this discrepancy.
