On November 28, 2023, The Town of LaSalle contracted Davies Howe LLP to act as the Town's Integrity Commissioner. The Integrity Commissioner helps ensure Members of Council conform to a high ethical standard, and adhere to the Town's Code of Conduct and any other applicable Town procedures, rules or policies.
The Code of Conduct for Members of Council and Local Boards outlines the principles of good conduct and ethics that Members of Council are expected to demonstrate in the performance of their duties as elected officials.

Robert G. Miller from Davies Howe LLP has been appointed as the Town of LaSalle's Integrity Commissioner beginning January 1, 2024 for a three year term. Robert is a partner who practices in the areas of land development, municipal law, and expropriation law. He was called to the Ontario Bar in June 1989. Robert’s extensive practice covers a broad range of land use and development issues as well as complex municipal and expropriation matters for clients across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton regions. He represents both public and private sector clients, providing guidance on the resolution of infrastructure, land acquisition, land use and division matters, including official planning, zoning, variance, site planning, consent, subdivisions, and expropriation matters. Prior to joining Davies Howe, Robert was the Assistant Town Solicitor for a GTA local municipality and the senior planning lawyer for a GTA regional municipality. Robert regularly appears before the Ontario Land Tribunal and municipal councils and committees to advocate for his clients. He has also appeared before the Divisional Court, Ontario Energy Board, and other administrative tribunals. Robert has held the role of instructor/lecturer before professional organizations on various matters, including examination and cross-examination and dealing with expert witnesses.
