    Howard Bouffard Area Future Development – Public Planning Meeting

    A Statutory Public Meeting under the Planning Act is being held to share information with the public and to receive and hear comments from persons and agencies on the draft documents related to the Howard Bouffard Secondary Plan (HBSP). A presentation will be given at the public meeting outlining the proposed HBSP and the goals and objectives associated with the project.

    The LaSalle Fire Service is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®)—the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week (FPW™)  for more than 100 years—to promote this year’s FPW campaign, “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!™  The campaign works to educate everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home.

    Monday, September 30 is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. To honour the children who survived residential schools and remember those who did not, many Canadians across the country will wear an orange shirt on this date. Let’s take time to reflect on the survivors, their families, and communities affected by residential schools. Many activities are taking place across Windsor-Essex County.

    In June 2021, the federal government passed historic legislation designating September 30 as a federal statutory holiday. This significant day, known as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, serves as a tribute to the children who never returned home from residential schools, the courageous survivors who lived through those challenging times, and the enduring strength of their families and communities.
