2025 Municipal By-Election
Notice is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Town of LaSalle that a By-Election to elect one (1) at-large Councillor, has been called. Voting Day for this By-Election is Monday, October 20, 2025. The newly-elected Councillor will be sworn in on October 28, 2025, and will hold office until the end of the term, on November 14, 2026.
On May 13, 2025, the seat for one (1) Office of Councillor was declared vacant. The By-law to conduct a By-Election was adopted by Council on July 8, 2025. The By-Election will be held using internet voting. This method of election was used to conduct the 2022 Regular Election and the same method Council selected for the 2026 Regular Election.

2025 Municipal By-Election Key Dates

Nominations open and first day to register as a candidate or as a third party advertiser. Nominations must be filed in person at the Lasalle Civic Centre, 5950 Malden Road. Electronic submissions will not be accepted. Appointments for nominations are preferred but not required. To schedule an appointment, email election@lasalle.ca or call 519-969-7770 ext. 1263 Appointments will last between 20 to 30 minutes. |

Last day to confirm, update, or add yourself to the Register through Elections Ontario Voter Registration. |
| September 5, 2025 | Last day to file to become a candidate - closes at 2:00 PM. |
| September 8, 2025 | Certified list of candidates to be released. |
| September 15, 2025 | Revision period for the Voters' List begins. Confirm, update, or add yourself or remove a deceased person on the Voters' List at the LaSalle Civic Centre, 5950 Malden Road or use the online form. (Form will be made available on September 15) |
| October 10-20, 2025 | Advance internet voting opens at 10:00 AM on October 10 and is available 24 hours a day until 8:00 PM on October 20. |
