The Town of LaSalle is affiliated with the Lifesaving Society. All lifeguards/swim instructors are trained on how to be Water Smart and the High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD). The following is a list of the Lifesaving Society swim classes offered at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex and at the LaSalle Outdoor Pool during the summer months. If you are unsure which level your child should be in, please ask a lifeguard to complete a swim test during an open swim.

The Lifesaving Society recognizes affiliate members who deliver the Society's training programs, promote Water Smart public education, and raise funds in support of the Society's drowning prevention mission. The Town of LaSalle is proud to have been recognized by the Lifesaving Society in their annual affiliate awards.

Lesson Descriptions

Parent and Tot Lessons (4 months - 3 years)

Parent and Tot 1/2/3

Spend quality time in the pool with your child, while you both have fun, learn and socialize. Through structured activities and in-water interaction between parent and child, we stress the importance of play in developing water-positive attitudes and skills. Activities and progressions are based on child development, so parents can register in the level appropriate for their child's age. We provide Lifesaving Society Water Smart tips on keeping your child safe in any aquatic setting.
