Welcome to LaSalle Senior Active Living!

A program designed to help older adults stay healthy, learn new things, and connect with others. LaSalle is proud to be part of Ontario’s 300+ Seniors Active Living Centres. This program is made possible with an annual  $55,000 grant from the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility.

Here are some of the exciting sessions:

  • New in 2026! Cups and Companions: This drop in session is a wonderful opportunity for seniors to connect, relax, and enjoy each other's company. Sip coffee, share stories, play games, or simply chat. Sessions are Tuesdays from 9:30 am to 10:30 am and Thursdays from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. There is always a seat waiting for you! Come as you are, no registration required.
  • Weekly Learning and Activity Sessions: Every Tuesday and Wednesday. New sessions are being developed all the time, try yoga, card games, painting, water activities, and much more! Weekly Learning and Activity Sessions are all about staying active, learning new things, and having fun with others. Pre-register for each session. 

  • Pole Walking: Every Thursday at 10:00 am. Walk your way to better health while enjoying the great outdoors. If it’s raining, head indoors to the Vollmer Centre. Walking poles are provided!

  • Tech Time: Learn to use your phone, tablet, or laptop with help from tech-savvy staff. Visit the link below for session information through LaSalle Active Registration.

Additional offerings to include Coffee with a Community Leader, Sneakers and Speakers sessions, and seniors' day events.

Pelee Island is Canada’s southernmost inhabited community, known for its relaxed pace and peaceful natural beauty. The ferry ride itself is part of the appeal, offering a calm, scenic journey across Lake Erie with indoor seating and outdoor viewing deck.

You’ll quickly find that island time is quite real on Pelee Island as you unplug, listen to nature, and wave hello to every one you pass while taking in the scenic shoreline views.

Tour Itinerary

8:30 am | Depart from the Vollmer Complex, 2121 Laurier Parkway

9:30 am | Arrive at Leamington Dock to board the Pelee Islander Ferry II

11:30 am | Arrive on Pelee Island

Time on the island includes a guided tour, lunch with wine tasting at Pelee Island Winery, and time to visit some shops.

4:00 pm | Board the Ferry back to the mainland

5:30 pm | Arrive at Leamington dock

6:30 pm | Arrival at the Vollmer Complex (approximate)
