The Town of LaSalle's Memorial Program offers meaningful ways to celebrate the lives of family members, friends, and loved ones who have left a lasting impact on our hearts and community. Through memorial plaques, benches, and engraved bricks, you can create a lasting tribute in a beautiful public space where future generations can pause, reflect, and remember.

Please complete the online application form. Review of requests and installation of memorials will be performed in accordance with the Town of LaSalle's Memorial Program Policy.

Memorial Plaques

Healing Hearts Forest

The Healing Hearts Forest, is a peaceful space dedicated to remembrance, reflections, and healing. Surrounded by trees, a butterfly garden, and a gazebo with benches, it offers a tranquil place to honour loved ones who have passed away. Memorial plaques are displayed on the gazebo railings provide a lasting tribute and a meaningful way to celebrate their memory.

Cost is $250.00* + HST per plaque.
Engraving is one line, maximum of 25 characters.

* Fees for memorial items are established by the Town's User Fee Schedule and are subject to change as the Schedule is amended.

Memorial plaques are installed twice a year:

Memorial plaque applications that are received and approved prior to the second Friday in April in any calendar year will be installed by the fourth Friday of June, weather permitting.
Memorial plaque applications that are received and approved prior to the second Friday in August in any calendar year will be installed by the second Friday of October, weather permitting.

Healing Hearts Gazebo, located south of the retention pond at the Vollmer Complex, 2121 Laurier Parkway.

Memorial Benches

Memorial Benches offer a meaningful and lasting way to honour, remember, and celebrate a loved one while enhancing the beauty and enjoyment of the Town's parks and public spaces. Serving as a permanent tribute and place of reflection, memorial benches can be enjoyed by family, friends, and the community. The Town's memorial benches are constructed from durable, UV-resistant steel, and designed to withstand the elements, ensuring a high-quality and long-lasting installation.

Cost for an engraved plate on an existing bench is $1,100* + HST.
Cost for a new 6' memorial bench including an engraved plaque is $1,980* + HST.
Engraving is five lines of text, 36 spaces per line including spaces and punctuation.

Memorial plaques are installed twice a year:

Memorial plaque applications that are received and approved prior to the second Friday in April in any calendar year will be installed by the fourth Friday of June, weather permitting.
Memorial plaque applications that are received and approved prior to the second Friday in August in any calendar year will be installed by the fourth Friday of October, weather permitting.

The final placement of the bench will be subject to site availability at the time of application.

Memorial Bricks

Memorial bricks are personalized engraved bricks that create a permanent tribute that can be visited and appreciated while contributing to the beauty of the community. Located in Millennium Gardens at the LaSalle Landing waterfront, these commemorative bricks are set within one of LaSalle’s most scenic public spaces. Featuring paved walkways, vibrant seasonal flower beds, and stunning views of the Detroit River, Millennium Gardens is a popular destination making it a meaningful and lasting location to honour and celebrate a loved one.

Bricks are 8” x 4”.
Cost is $110.00* + HST per brick.
Engraving is two lines, with 11 characters on each line.

Bricks will require 60 days for installation once orders are processed, weather permitting.
