The Town of LaSalle has over 40km of trails for you to enjoy. Non-profit organizations are invited to get involved in improving and preserving our trails and green space through the Town's Adopt-a-Trail program.

What does it mean to adopt a trail?

Groups who adopt a trail commit to a three year adoption period and are encouraged to schedule a minimum of 2 clean-ups each year. The recommended cleanup schedule consists of one clean-up on or around Earth Day (April 22nd) and another in the early fall. Groups are required to notify the Town of all scheduled clean-ups a minimum of 48 hours in advance. Garbage bags and Nitrile gloves will be provided by the Town and all garbage collected will be picked up the following day. For more specific information on trail clean-ups and to review the clean-up safety tips, please visit our Clean-up LaSalle page.

Sample SignRecognition and Appreciation

To show appreciation to groups who adopt Town trails, signage will be posted along the trail section they have adopted. Groups will also be recognized on the Town's website and  social media pages.

How are trails assigned?

Groups who apply to adopt a trail are selected on a first come, first serve basis, with preference given to returning groups who have adopted trails in the past. Groups who successfully complete a 3 year adoption period will be offered the chance to renew for the next period before other applicants are able to apply.
