The Ontario Heritage Trust, in partnership with the County of Essex, the Town of Amherstburg and the Town of LaSalle, unveiled a new provincial plaque commemorating the River Canard Bridge. This bridge exemplifies rapid change and growth in Depression-era Ontario, when infrastructure design balanced beauty with innovative engineering.
The Town of LaSalle has released the 2026 Draft Budget and Business Plan document. It is available on the Budget and Finance page of the Town’s website, and can also be viewed in person at the LaSalle Civic Centre.
Join Members of LaSalle Council and administration on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Vollmer Centre Lobby, 2121 Laurier Parkway, to learn more about the 2026 draft budget, and the Parks, Recreation and Culture and Master Plan. In addition, display boards and administration from all departments will be at the open house.

Mike Seguin was officially sworn in as a member of LaSalle Council during the Regular Meeting of Council held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Seguin was elected in the 2025 LaSalle Municipal By-Election on October 20, following the passing of long-serving Councillor Sue Desjarlais. Seguin’s term as councillor will run until November 14, 2026. The next municipal election in LaSalle is set for October 2026.

In the 2025 LaSalle Municipal By- Election, the number of eligible voters was 27,294. The number of ballots cast was 3,402 resulting in a voter turnout of 12.46%. View official results here.

Internet voting continues in LaSalle with electors casting their votes using any computer or wireless device, 24 hours a day. Electors can vote from virtually anywhere until 8:00 pm tonight, Monday, October 20.
Due to the nationwide strike by Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), Eligible voters in LaSalle can pick up their Voter Information Letter (VIL) to cast their vote in the 2025 Municipal By-Election.The VILs will be available beginning on Wednesday, October 8 at 9:30 am at the LaSalle Civic Centre to vote by internet for the position of one councillor seat. This letter includes the PIN number that will be used to log into the voting system. It is needed in order to cast a vote.
