LaSalle Firefighters, Town staff, and community members are mourning the death of former Volunteer (Part-time) Firefighter, Robert “Bob” Price. Bob was a Volunteer Firefighter with LaSalle Fire Service from 1997 to 2008.

Bob’s dedication to the LaSalle Fire Service extended beyond firefighting. He also played an instrumental role in the department's fundraising efforts, social event planning, and restoration of the LaSalle Fire Service antique fire engine. Bob's service and commitment to the LaSalle community extended long after his active service. He volunteered his time by attending emergency response calls to take photos of the scenes to share with the department

“Bob had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like family. He embodied the true spirit of camaraderie and teamwork that defines the LaSalle Fire Service,” says Fire Chief Ed Thiessen. “His contributions, dedication, and commitment to serving LaSalle will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with Bob's family during this difficult time.”

A full honours Line of Duty Death (LODD) funeral will be held. The Memorial Service takes place on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 11:30 am at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor. Memorial visitation is on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a Firefighter Walk-by at 7:00 pm.
