It's Election Day in LaSalle

There are only a few hours left to vote in the 2025 LaSalle Municipal By-Election. Internet voting continues in LaSalle with electors casting their votes using any computer or wireless device, 24 hours a day. Electors can vote from virtually anywhere until 8:00 pm tonight, Monday, October 20.

Eligible electors are voting for the position of one (1) Councillor seat.

Due to the rotating strikes by Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), eligible voters will need to pick up their Voter Information Letter (VIL) to cast their vote. This letter includes the PIN number that will be used to log into the voting system. It is needed in order to cast a vote. The VILs are available at the LaSalle Civic Centre, 5950 Malden Road. Voters will be required to provide a valid ID and can pick up VILs for other voters in the same household only.

Electors requiring assistance to cast their votes may go to the Voter Help Centre located at the LaSalle Civic Centre, 5950 Malden Rd., until 8:00 pm tonight (October 20). Anyone in need of a ride to the LaSalle Civic Centre can take the LaSalle Transit Route 25 for free on Monday, October 20.

Please note that the Voting Portal will shut down at exactly 8:00 pm tonight, Monday, October 20. Should a voter be in the middle of casting their ballot at 8:00 pm, their access to the voting portal will remain open for 10 minutes from the time in which they logged into the portal. Any voter who is inside the LaSalle Civic Centre lobby prior to 8:00 pm will be able to cast their ballot.

Once the final voter has cast their ballot and the voting kiosks at the LaSalle Civic Centre are closed, the process of tallying election results will begin. It is anticipated that results will be available within approximately 40 minutes after the close of voting. Unofficial election results will be posted to the Town of LaSalle News page as soon as they become available following the close of polls.
