LaSalle 2026 Municipal Election: Call for Candidates

Running for municipal office is an important way to serve your community and help shape local decision making. The Notice of Nomination is now posted on the Town's website. The Town of LaSalle will accept nominations for the 2026 LaSalle Municipal Election beginning on Friday, May 1. Nomination forms may be filed in person at the LaSalle Civic Centre, located at 5950 Malden Road, between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The deadline to file is Friday, August 21, 2026, at 2:00 pm. 

Appointments to file nomination papers are preferred and can be made by contacting the Clerk’s Office at 519-969-7770 ext. 1263 or by email. 

Candidates may begin campaigning and fundraising once their nomination has been filed. Lawn signs may be displayed beginning Friday, September 11, 2026. 

The 2026 LaSalle Municipal and School Board Election will be conducted using the online voting method. Eligible electors will receive a Voter Information Letter (VIL) in early October, which will include instructions and a secure PIN to vote online. The voting period will begin on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and will close on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. 

A Voter Help Centre will be available at the LaSalle Civic Centre during the voting period to assist electors who require help with the online voting process. Hours of operation will be posted on the Election - 2026 Municipal and School Board web page.
