Message from Mayor Meloche - August 14, 2026

Friday, August 14, 2026
Hello residents of LaSalle,
This past weekend, I was honoured to represent LaSalle at the second annual Caldwell First Nations Pow Wow. It was a wonderful celebration of culture, tradition, and community, and I appreciated the opportunity to take part in it. We continue to build and strengthen our relationship between LaSalle and Caldwell First Nations, and I look forward to our ongoing work together.
Association of Municipalities Conference
Members of Council and administration will be travelling to Ottawa this weekend for the Association of Municipalities of Ontario Annual Conference (AMO). We have several delegations scheduled, providing an important opportunity to meet directly with provincial representatives and advocate on behalf of the residents of LaSalle. I look forward to a productive few days and will bring an update to a future Council Meeting.
LaSalle Last Call Before Fall
Tickets for Last Call Before Fall officially went on sale this week! This is an end of summer celebration at the Event Centre at LaSalle Landing, which takes place on Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12. Tickets are $25 per night, and feature local beverages, food, and live entertainment. Friday night kicks off with DJ QRIUS GEORGE, and features a throwback party with hits from across the decades. On Saturday, HiGGi Country Music takes the stage bringing a mix of country storytelling and rock influences. The event features vendors from the Barrels, Bottles, and Brews Trail and EPIC Wineries. Tickets tend to sell out, so I encourage everyone to purchase tickets early. For more information, visit Last Call Before Fall.
Mondays with the Mayor
I’d like to remind residents that this month’s Mondays with the Mayor is on Monday, August 24. I will be available from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the LaSalle Civic Centre. If you’d like to stop in for a face-to-face conversation, please check-in with reception when you arrive. No appointment is needed. If you are unable to come during that time, feel free to reach out to schedule a different date and time. For more information, visit Mayor Crystal Meloche.
Canoe and Kayak Docks
Looking for water access for a canoe or kayak? Paddlers can find launch docks available at multiple locations across Town during boating season. Visit Vince Marcotte Park (north of the pedestrian bridge over Turkey Creek), the Retention pond at the Vollmer Complex, Riverdance at the LaSalle Landing waterfront, or River Canard Park. Ensure that you bring your own equipment! For more information, visit LaSalle Boat Ramp.
