Hello residents of LaSalle,
I am happy to share that the storm sewer reconstruction project on Front Road is expected to finish soon. Over the next couple of weeks, crews will be completing the remaining asphalt paving, line painting, and restoration work. To ensure the safety of both workers and motorists, the northbound lane will remain closed while restoration activities are underway. Once roadway work is complete, the project will move into the next phase, which involves the construction of two new pump stations. One will be located at Adams Lane near the Riverdance building, and the other at G. Craig Park on Reaume Road. For more information, visit Public Works Projects.

July LaSalle Night Market

I would like to invite everyone to our upcoming LaSalle Night Market on Sunday, July 26, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the LaSalle Civic Centre. It’s a wonderful opportunity to support our local businesses, enjoy great food, and shop from local vendors. Residents can also participate in a free Yoga and Pilates class throughout the evening. Be sure to bring your yoga mat and check our website for class times. There is no shortage of family-friendly things to do and enjoy at the market. For more information, visit LaSalle Night Markets.

Mondays with the Mayor

I want to remind residents that I will be available on Monday, July 27, for Mondays with the Mayor from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. If you’d like to stop by for a conversation, no appointment is necessary. Simply check in with reception at the LaSalle Civic Centre. If you would like to book a different date and time, feel free to reach out. For more information, visit Mayor Crystal Meloche.

Outdoor Fire Ban

Recreational and open fires are not allowed within the Town at this time due to an Air Quality Warning issued by Environment Canada and Climate Change. All forms of open-air fires are not allowed until the warning lifts. This included campfires, chimineas, outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, brush fires, and agricultural fires. Fines will be administered. For more information, visit Outdoor Fires and follow LaSalle Fire Service on social media for updates.

LaSalle Senior Active Living

I encourage residents aged 55+ to participate in our free programming, with weekly learning and activity sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. New classes are always being developed. Be sure to check the Town website for new offerings, and don’t forget to pre-register. For more information, visit LaSalle Senior Active Living.
