Hello residents of LaSalle,

It was another busy week in LaSalle, highlighted by the 38th annual LaSalle Strawberry Festival. While the weather did not cooperate this weekend, more than 22,000 visitors still attended the festival, creating fun lasting memories with family and friends. We enjoyed delicious food, carnival rides, live entertainment, and a spirited strawberry eating contest. Thank you to our volunteers, sponsors, emergency service personnel, vendors, entertainers, and especially our Town staff who worked hard to ensure that the festival was a success, despite the less-than-ideal weather.

Canada Day in LaSalle

Building off last year, I am excited to invite residents to our second annual LaSalle Canada Day Celebration at the Event Centre at LaSalle Landing on Wednesday, July 1, from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The evening will include family-friendly activities like face-painting, games, food trucks, live music, busker-style entertainment, and a lively lumberjack show. Residents can stroll the Loop, cool off at the Rotary Circle and cap off the evening with a spectacular drone show at 10:00 pm. I hope to see many of our residents join us as we celebrate our community and country. Residents should also note that municipal offices and the Vollmer Centre will be closed on Canada Day. For more information, visit LaSalle Canada Day Celebration.

June LaSalle Night Market

The second LaSalle Night Market of the summer series is taking place this coming Sunday, June 28, at the LaSalle Civic Centre from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. I encourage residents to explore what our talented June Vendors have to offer. The markets are scheduled throughout the summer on the last Sunday of each month until September. For more information, visit LaSalle Night Markets.

Outdoor Pool Opens

I am pleased to announce that the LaSalle Outdoor Pool will open for the season on Sunday, June 28, located at 1200 Front Road. Residents can enjoy free recreational swimming daily from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, thanks to the support of Pathway to Potential and Essex Powerlines. The pool will offer swimming lessons, aqua fitness, lifeguarding programs, and more through LaSalle Active. For more information, visit Outdoor Pool.

Transit Master Plan and Vollmer Centre Expansion

There is still time for residents to provide feedback on a future expansion of the Vollmer Centre and Round 2 of the Transit Master Plan. I encourage everyone to visit the Town website and PlaceSpeak to complete the surveys and share their thoughts. The Transit Survey will close on Tuesday, June 30, and the Vollmer Centre survey feedback will be received until Monday, July 6. Your input helps shape the future of our community, so we want to hear from as many as you as possible. Town administration will also be available at the LaSalle Night Market on Sunday, June 28, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm to answer questions on both community initiatives. For more information, visit Plans, Reports and Studies.
