Town of LaSalle Cancels Outdoor Programming in Response to Environment Canada Air Quality Warning

In response to the Air Quality Warning issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada, the Town of LaSalle has cancelled the following outdoor recreation programs until further notice:

LaSalle Outdoor Pool (Front Road and Laurier Drive)

Parks Power Hour scheduled for Thursday, July 16
The cancellations have been put in place to protect the health and safety of participants and staff.
Residents who are registered with or participate in organized sports at Town-owned sports fields are encouraged to contact their league or organization directly for information about practices, games, and cancellations.
During heavy smoke conditions, everyone’s health is at risk regardless of their age or health status. Environment and Climate Change Canada recommends limiting time outdoors. Recreational and open fires are not allowed within the Town at this time. All outdoor fires in the Town of LaSalle must follow the rules of By-law 2025-062. The Town of LaSalle reminds residents that the Vollmer Centre, LaSalle Civic Centre, and LaSalle Branch of the Essex County Library are community buildings and can provide some relief. The following are hours that these facilities are open:
Vollmer Centre – 2121 Laurier Parkway

Monday to Friday 6:00 am to 10:00 pm

Saturday/Sunday 7:00 am to 8:00 pm
LaSalle Civic Centre – 5950 Malden Road

Monday to Wednesday - 8:30 am to 8:00 pm

Thursday - 8:30 am to 9:30 pm

Friday - 8:30 am to 8:00 pm

Saturday - 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Sunday - Closed
