Town of LaSalle Observes National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 2026

The Town of LaSalle recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30. A day dedicated to honouring residential school survivors, their families, and communities, and remembering the children who were taken from their families, including those who never returned home.

Canadians from coast to coast are encouraged to wear orange on this day as a symbol of support for the countless survivors of residential schools. It is a day to pause, listen, learn, and reflect on our shared history. 

The LaSalle Civic Centre will be closed on Wednesday, September 30 to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.   

The Town of LaSalle encourages residents to take time on September 30 to learn about the histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples, and to reflect on the importance of truth, healing, and reconciliation.
