Changes to the Voters' List

From Tuesday, September 1, 2026 until the close of voting at 8:00 pm on Monday, October 26, 2026, electors will be able to make changes to their information, add themselves to Voters' List, or remove a deceased person from the Voters' List at the Lasalle Civic Centre, 5950 Malden Road.

Confirm, update, or add your information if you:

have changed your name or address
own or rent a new property
no longer own or rent a property
want to remove yourself from the Voters' List
want to remove a deceased person from the Voters' List

Verify App LaSalle

The Verify App LaSalle allows electors to confirm that their vote was recorded correctly in the digital ballot box.

An elector can log in to the app using the login credentials provided on their Voter Information Letter. Once logged in the app, the elector can scan the QR code they receive right after voting. The app will show the elector how their vote was cast by displaying the content of the vote without compromising elector’s privacy.

In the event that the vote shown in the app does not correspond with the selections the elector made, the app will inform the elector on how to proceed.

Downloading the app is optional and is not required for your vote to be counted.

Who Can Vote in LaSalle in the 2026 LaSalle Municipal and School Board Election?

Who Can Vote?

If you meet all the following conditions, you are eligible to vote in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election:

a Canadian citizen
at least 18 years old
a resident in the Town of LaSalle or a non-resident of Town of LaSalle and you or your spouse own or rent property in the Town of LaSalle
not prohibited from voting under the Municipal Elections Act or otherwise by law

Note: You can only vote once, regardless of how many properties you own or rent within the Town of LaSalle.

Who Does Not Qualify?

The Municipal Elections Act prohibits the following persons from voting:

any person who is not qualified;
a person who is serving a sentence or imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution;
a corporation;
a person acting as executor or trustee or in any other representative capacity;
a person who has been convicted of corrupt practices under the Municipal Elections Act if voting day in the current election is less than 5 years after voting day in the election in respect of which he or she was convicted; and
anyone who is prohibited by law from voting.

Student Voters Residing in Another Municipality for School

As outlined in the Municipal Elections Act a person may have residences and vote in two local municipalities at the same time, in the same election, if:

The person lives in one of the local municipalities in order to attend an educational institution, but not with the intention of changing their permanent lodging place; and
The person's permanent lodging place is in the other local municipality.
