Changes to the Voters' List

The period for electors to change their information or add themselves to Voters' List through Elections Ontario closed on Wednesday, August 12.

Starting Tuesday, September 1, 2026 until the close of voting at 8:00 pm on Monday, October 26, 2026, electors will be able to make changes to their information, add themselves to Voters' List, or remove a deceased person from the Voters' List at the Lasalle Civic Centre, 5950 Malden Road. An online application to make changes to the Voters' List will also be made available beginning on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Confirm, update, or add your information if you:

  • have changed your name or address
  • own or rent a new property
  • no longer own or rent a property
  • want to remove yourself from the Voters' List
  • want to remove a deceased person from the Voters' List

Who Can Vote in LaSalle in the 2026 LaSalle Municipal and School Board Election?

If you meet all the following conditions, you are eligible to vote in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election:

  • a Canadian citizen
  • at least 18 years old
  • a resident in the Town of LaSalle or a non-resident of Town of LaSalle and you or your spouse own or rent property in the Town of LaSalle
  • not prohibited from voting under the Municipal Elections Act or otherwise by law

Note: You can only vote once, regardless of how many properties you own or rent within the Town of LaSalle. 

The Municipal Elections Act prohibits the following persons from voting:

  • any person who is not qualified;
  • a person who is serving a sentence or imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution;
  • a corporation;
  • a person acting as executor or trustee or in any other representative capacity;
  • a person who has been convicted of corrupt practices under the Municipal Elections Act if voting day in the current election is less than 5 years after voting day in the election in respect of which he or she was convicted; and
  • anyone who is prohibited by law from voting.

As outlined in the Municipal Elections Act a person may have residences and vote in two local municipalities at the same time, in the same election, if:

  • The person lives in one of the local municipalities in order to attend an educational institution, but not with the intention of changing their permanent lodging place; and
  •  The person's permanent lodging place is in the other local municipality.
