Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy
The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act is a Provincial law that gives a right of access to information held by a municipal government.
The Act requires municipalities to protect personal information contained in their records by imposing protection of privacy requirements governing their proper collection, retention, use, disclosure and disposal. The Act is not necessary to access information that is already available to the public.
If you are the authorized representative of the Requester, please provide an Authorization and Direction confirming the scope of your representation, and consent provided by the Requester, as related to the Freedom of Information Request you are making.
Application Fee: There is a $5.00 non-refundable fee to file a Freedom of Information Request.
Additional Fees: Additional fees apply for the preparation, copy of records and administrative research time. The following fees are as set out by MFIPPA:
