Before you decide to appear before Council, you may want to discuss the matter with a Council Member or Town of LaSalle Staff Member. Some matters may be addressed without the need to appear before Council. At the very least, the Council Member or Staff Member will advise you of next steps.

Hybrid Meetings and Delegations
Members of the public can participate in Council meetings in-person or virtually. Meetings are open to the public and seats are available in the gallery should you choose to attend in-person. If you wish to simply observe a meeting from your home, you can watch a livestream of the meeting on our YouTube Channel.
It is your responsibility to indicate if you require an accommodation. The Clerk will determine the best method to address the accommodation before the meeting. The meetings are broadcasted live on the Town of LaSalle's YouTube Channel. Delegates that participate virtually will form part of the recording.

How to Register as a Delegation/Provide Written Submission?
If you wish to participate in a Council Meeting or provide a written submission, you must use the designated Delegation Request/Written Submission Form (button at the bottom of the page). Delegation Requests and Written Submissions must be submitted to the Clerk by Friday at noon before the scheduled Council Meeting. Anything submitted after the cut off time will not form part of the Agenda.
Council Meetings are scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, begin at 6 p.m. and take place in Council Chambers, located in the LaSalle Civic Centre.
How do I make a Presentation to Council?
If you wish wish to make a Presentation to Council you must submit a written request by noon at least 21 days prior the Meeting.

What is the Format of the Meetings?
Delegations are heard by Council near the beginning of the meeting. The Mayor will invite you, as a delegate, to approach the delegation table to make your presentation. After you speak and answer any questions, Council may discuss the matter further and may make a decision. You do not have to stay for the whole meeting and can leave after Council has discussed your item.
Presentations - 10 minutes
Delegations - 5 minutes
Where there are numerous delegations taking the same position on a matter, they are encouraged to select a spokesperson to present their views.

Be advised that all Council and Committee meeting presentations become part of the public record and you will be listed as a presenter on the Agenda and Minutes of the meeting. Agendas and Minutes are published online, so the listing of your name in connection with the Agenda or Minutes may be indexed by search engines like Google.
