Pickleball

Sean Kenney's Animal Super Powers Made with LEGO® Bricks is booked at the Event Centre from January 22 to April 6, 2024. This means that indoor pickleball will not be offered in early 2024. As this is a pilot project, administration will analyze the success of the large-scale event to consider options for programming in future years.

Pickleball - When drop-in Pickleball is offered at the Event Centre, a $5.00 fee will be applied per user, per session, and can be paid with cash, credit or debit. Doors will open 15 minutes prior to the start of the session. An announcement will be made when there is 15 minutes remaining in the session so players know to wrap up their game and leave to allow the next session to begin. All players must leave the facility at the end of the session. Pickleball is open to those age 16 and over. We will consider options for family pickleball in the future.

Players must bring their own paddles and balls to use. No equipment is provided on site.

Court Etiquette
  • Use is first-come, first-served. Courts cannot be reserved in advance. Games are not organized by the Town.
  • Pickleball courts are available for all skill levels. Please be courteous to all players and share the courts.
  • Players must avoid interference with play on adjoining courts. Be respectful of other players.
  • Spectators are not permitted on courts.
  • Food, alcoholic beverages, glass cups, and/or glass bottles are not allowed on the courts.
Court Information
  • Pickleball courts will be marked with non-permanent tape lines.

  • The ground surface in the event centre is polished concrete. The concrete present was part of the original building and was not replaced during this renovation. As with all concrete floors, there are saw cut joints throughout the floor. The Town has worked to fill these joints, however, the floor surface is nowhere near the quality of the outdoor courts with a seamless, colored surface. Any anticipated court use will have to recognize and accept the quality of the play surface available.
Facility Information
  • The facility temperature ranges from 68 degrees to 71 degrees fahrenheit.
  • Restrooms and water bottle fill stations are available inside; however, there are no showers or lockers inside the facility.
