Fire Safety Education and Tours

The LaSalle Fire Service members contribute to the success of fire and life safety programs through:

  • Public Education: we hold campaigns and organize visits to teach residents about fire dangers, how to stay safe, and what to do in emergencies.
  • Community Outreach: we host events and tours to connect with residents and share important fire safety information.
  • Distribution of Literature: we distribute fire prevention materials, such as pamphlets and brochures, to educate the public.

Fire Prevention Week

Fire Prevention Week is observed every year by LaSalle Fire Service during the week of October 9th. Each year, communities throughout North America observe Fire Prevention Week to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire of October 9, 1871. This tragedy has taught important lessons that have shaped the way fire departments think about fire safety.

At the LaSalle Fire Service, we teach fire safety year-round, and especially during Fire Prevention Week, to help prevent the devastation fire can cause.

Station Tour

The LaSalle Fire Service invites schools and local groups to book a fire station tour by filling out the Public Education Request Form. We are here to educate our community about fire safety and fire prevention.

Fire Safety Presentation

Fire safety education includes fire and life safety presentations to service groups, youth groups, and seniors. We are happy to visit and give presentations or guest lectures in our community by filling out the Public Education Request Form.
