Malden Road Phase 1 Reconstruction

The Malden Road Phase 1 Reconstruction project is currently in the detailed design stage and will be tendered at the end of 2026. Below is an overview of the project:

Project Information:

• Two lanes of traffic widening to three lanes on Malden Road (center turning lane added as per EA).
• Addition of bike lanes, sidewalks and trails on both sides of the road.
• New signal light at the Malden - Reaume Road intersection.
• Additional pedestrian crossovers (PXO's) within the corridor.

Project Schedule: 

• November 2025 to Spring 2026 - Enbridge will begin relocating the gas utilities, including private service connections.
• Spring/Summer 2026 - Communication and powerline utility construction to being. Other works will include bridge reconstruction at the Cahill Drain, and minor watermain works in the associated area.
• Fall 2027 - Utility and preconstruction works to be completed. Remaining works to be tendered.
• March 2027 - Main construction to begin and should last until December 2027.
