October 7, 2026: Voter Information Letters (VIL) for the 2026 LaSalle Municipal and School Board Elections have been mailed, and residents will begin receiving them in the next few days.
Each VIL includes important information about the voting platform, how to vote, and a PIN needed to access the voting portal. Eligible voters are encouraged to review the information carefully to ensure the information is accurate, and the VIL should be kept in a safe place until voting opens. The Town of LaSalle is preparing to begin Phase 1 of the Malden Road Rehabilitation project, which includes road widening, pedestrian crossings, bike paths, and infrastructure upgrades. Council has approved the tender process, with construction expected to begin in mid-2026 and full road closures planned to improve safety and reduce costs.
UPDATE: Tuesday, September 2, 2025 - The Essex Terminal Railway (ETR) infrastructure projects are currently delayed. Further details will be shared as soon as they become available.
Pedestrian crossing upgrades and signal maintenance is underway in LaSalle.
In October of 2022, the Town of LaSalle conducted a Traffic Study of the Mayfair Avenue and Maple Avenue intersection. Based on the findings, the Town decided to reassign the right-of-way from Maple Avenue to Mayfair Avenue at this intersection.
The Town will begin a storm sewer reconstruction project in the coming months along Front Road from Reaume Road to Boismier Avenue. During the project, traffic lanes will be reduced from four (4) to two (2) lanes, and turning restrictions will be in place. This project will cause major traffic delays. Alternate routes should be considered, as well as adding additional time for commutes.
The Town of LaSalle Public Works Department will reopen Matchett Road bridge over Turkey Creek, Friday, May 30 at approximately 4:00 pm, after months of rehabilitation work.

LASALLE, ON, Friday, January 31, 2025 - The Town of LaSalle Public Works Department is set to begin work on the Matchett Road bridge over Turkey Creek, tentatively scheduled to start the week of February 10, 2025. This project aims to repair the bridge and upgrade the existing sidewalk on the structure to a multi-use path. The construction is expected to be completed by June 2025.
Three new pedestrian signals are now installed and ready for use along Front Road in LaSalle at the intersections of Bouffard Road, Huron Street, and Boismier Avenue.
