Welcome to LaSalle Senior Active Living!

A program designed to help older adults stay healthy, learn new things, and connect with others. LaSalle is proud to be part of Ontario’s 300+ Seniors Active Living Centres. This program is made possible with an annual  $55,000 grant from the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility.

Here are some of the exciting sessions:

  • Weekly Learning and Activity Sessions: Every Tuesday and Wednesday. New sessions are being developed all the time, try yoga, card games, painting, water activities, and much more! Weekly Learning and Activity Sessions are all about staying active, learning new things, and having fun with others. Pre-register for each session. 

  • Pole Walking: Every Thursday at 10:00 am. Walk your way to better health while enjoying the great outdoors. If it’s raining, head indoors to the Vollmer Centre. Walking poles are provided!

  • Tech Time: Learn to use your phone, tablet, or laptop with help from tech-savvy staff. Visit the link below for session information through LaSalle Active Registration.

Additional offerings to include Coffee with a Community Leader, Sneakers and Speakers sessions, and seniors' day events.

A Day of shopping, dining, entertainment, and holiday cheer

Sarnia Celebration of Lights Day Trip

Experience a full journey of shopping, dining, entertainment, and holiday cheer on the LaSalle Senior Active Living Bus Trip to the Sarnia Celebration of Lights. 

Trip Details 

Date: Tuesday, December 2, 2025  

Destination: Sarnia, Ontario 

Tour Cost: $75 per person, HST Included 

About the Celebration of Lights 

The Celebration of Lights is a spectacular display in which Sarnia-Lambton is set aglow under a blanket of illuminated lights. Both local residents and the thousands of visitors who travel each year to view the celebration enjoy this magical festival. The Celebration of Lights began in 1984 with 650 lights and 9 displays. As a result of the popularity of the event and the community participation, the Celebration has snowballed in the following years to thousands of lights and 160 displays. 

Tour Itinerary 

9:00 am – Departure from the Vollmer Centre (The bus is traveling via the Canadian route) 

10:00 am – Arrival at Birdie’s Nest Inc. – Chatham, ON 

12:00 pm - Lunch (included) at the Glass House Nursery and Garden Centre Ltd.  – Chatham, ON 

2:30 pm – Arrival at the Kineto Theatre for a tour of one of the world’s longest continuous operating theatres. 

4:30 pm – Dinner at Match Eatery, Point Edward Casino (with time for gaming) 

6:30 pm – Visit the Sarnia Celebration of Lights display 

7:00 pm – Departure for LaSalle 

9:00 pm – Arrive back in LaSalle
