Hello residents of LaSalle,

As we move into a new month, it’s time to welcome the warm weather and take advantage of the incredible spaces LaSalle has to offer. Whether you’re cooling off from the heat at the Vollmer Splash Pad or at the Rotary Circle, there is always a special spot for family fun. We are also celebrating the return of our summer events. There’s truly something for everyone in the weeks ahead.

LaSalle Night Markets 2026

We are approaching the first of the summer series of LaSalle Night Markets this coming Sunday, May 31, at the LaSalle Civic Centre from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Markets take place on the last Sunday of every month from May to September. Join us for local shopping, live entertainment, and delicious foods. For more information, including the full list of vendors for the upcoming market.

National Accessibility Week

This week recognizes the contributions of Canadians with disabilities while promoting efforts to build a more inclusive and accessible community. I’m pleased to invite our community to join us in raising the Regional Accessibility Flag on Monday, June 1st at 1:30 pm at the LaSalle Civic Centre, 5950 Malden Road. I encourage everyone attending to wear red in support of accessibility and inclusion.

LaSalle Strawberry Festival

Tickets are available online for the 2026 LaSalle Strawberry Festival, Thursday, June 11 to Sunday, June 14, at the Vollmer Complex.

Strawberry Cleaning Volunteers

If you’re looking for an opportunity to give back to the community, come volunteer to clean strawberries on Wednesday, June 10, at the Event Centre at LaSalle Landing, located at 970 Front Road, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. If you’re a high school student, this also qualifies for community service hours. Whether you can stay for the whole session or just an hour, any involvement is appreciated. No need to register, just show up!

2026 Parade Route Relocation

The LaSalle Strawberry Festival Parade is being relocated this year due to construction along Front Road. The Parade will now take place on Saturday, June 13, starting at 10:00 am at the Vollmer Complex. Visit the LaSalle Strawberry Festival Parade page on the Town’s website for the new Parade Route Map. Join the excitement by watching the parade from sidewalks and paths along Laurier Parkway, Mike Raymond Drive and Judy Recker Crescent.

LaSalle Senior Expo 2026

Supporting active, healthy aging is important, so I am excited to see the LaSalle Senior Expo return for a second year at the Event Centre at LaSalle Landing, 970 Front Road, on Wednesday, June 17, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Residents aged 55+ can enjoy an afternoon of building connections with local organizations, gathering resources, and services information that focuses on supporting safe and active senior living.
