Message from the Mayor

March 13, 2026

Hello residents of LaSalle,

As we transition into the warmer months, I would like to share an important seasonal update from LaSalle Landing. The Loop skate trail is now closed for the season, and over the next few weeks, our staff will be giving the trail its annual spring refresh. As the ice continues to melt, we ask residents to please stay off the surface for safety. Once the transformation is complete, The Loop will once again be a great place to walk, jog, inline or roller skate along LaSalle’s beautiful waterfront. Looking ahead, the Rotary Circle water jets will be turned on in May, and the sun sails will be installed to provide shade for families enjoying the space.

March Break Fun in LaSalle

With March Break just around the corner, I encourage families and students to take advantage of the many activities available in our community. Visit the Vollmer Centre to check out the March Break swim and skate schedule or enjoy our parks and trails throughout the week. Students can also travel for $1 cash fare throughout March Break, making it easier to get around and participate in local activities. On behalf of Council, I wish all students and families a safe, fun, and relaxing March Break.

LaSalle Transit Master Plan

We are also seeking community input as part of the LaSalle Transit Master Plan. Residents, local businesses, and community partners are invited to complete a short 10–12minute survey on PlaceSpeak to share their feedback on the future of LaSalle Transit Route 25. Feedback will be received until March 31.

LaSalle Awards of Excellence

The finalists are in. This year, we received an incredible 140 nominations for the LaSalle Awards of Excellence, each highlighting the individuals, businesses, and organizations that help make LaSalle such a vibrant and caring community. The short list is now available on the Town website. We look forward to celebrating at the LaSalle Awards of Excellence event on the evening of Thursday, April 9, at the Event Centre at LaSalle Landing. It promises to be a wonderful evening, recognizing the people in LaSalle who make a positive impact every day. View the nominees and purchase tickets.
