Hello residents of LaSalle,
I want to congratulate Town of LaSalle staff for the first LaSalle Night Market on Sunday, May 25. It was a huge success, with close to 80 vendors, and beautiful weather. The entertainment was fantastic, we had two different forms of entertainment, so now there’s music throughout the facility. We look forward to the next LaSalle Night Market on Sunday, June 29.
Fire Station 2 Grand Opening
LaSalle’s Fire Station 2 officially opened on Wednesday, May 28, and what an incredible honour it was. It’s a step forward in our continued commitment to community safety.
Thank you to everyone at LaSalle Fire Service for your unwavering dedication, your courage, and your service. This station is yours — a symbol of our gratitude and a testament to your role in protecting our town.
I also want to extend my sincere thanks to our Town administration, municipal staff, project partners, especially JP Thomson Architects Ltd and Gulf Development, and everyone who played a role in making this station a reality. This was truly a team effort, and we all share in this achievement.
The grand opening was a family-friendly open house with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. It was a great turnout, so thank you to those who came. The second station is located at 2190 Front Road.
Strawberry Cleaning Volunteers
The LaSalle Strawberry Festival takes place next weekend, and we’re looking for volunteers on Wednesday, June 4, to help clean strawberries. If you can, please come to the Event Centre at LaSalle Landing, located at 790 Front Road, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. It’s a great opportunity to lend a hand and be involved in the community, this also qualifies for student community service hours. Join us if you can, an hour of your time would be greatly appreciated.
This year’s festival dates are Thursday, June 5, to Sunday, June 8. Visit our website to purchase advanced admission tickets, view the entertainment and activities schedules and more.
Freezie with a Firefighter
Stop in at the fire hall on Friday, June 6, between 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, to learn about summer fire safety and have a freezie with the LaSalle firefighters. Please park at the LaSalle Civic Centre for this event and walk over to the Fire Hall at 1900 Normandy St.
