Hello residents of LaSalle,
I want to recognize someone who has been a part of the Town of LaSalle with a career that has spanned 33 years. We want to thank Allen Burgess for his time and commitment to LaSalle, and wish him the very best in retirement.
I had the honor of representing LaSalle at the Caldwell First Nations Pow Wow. This was their first Pow Wow on the sacred land since it’s been returned to them. It was a very powerful and meaningful day. I want to thank members of administration who joined me in celebrations. I look forward to building relationships with Caldwell, and appreciate the invitation to join them.
This past weekend, members of Council joined the LaSalle Stompers as they presented the first bursary in honor of the late Councillor Sue Desjarlais. It was a beautiful moment, made even more special by the unveiling of a permanent plaque at the fields where Councillor Desjarlais spent much of her time volunteering. Thank you to the LaSalle Stompers.
Open Air Fire Ban
The Town of LaSalle has declared an open air fire ban effective immediately due to the dry conditions. All forms of open air fires are prohibited in the Town of LaSalle until further notice. This includes campfires, chimineas, outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, brush fires, and agricultural fires. Fines will be administered. For more information visit our webpage about outdoor fires.
Front Road Storm Sewer Reconstruction Project
The start of the Front Road Storm Sewer Reconstruction project has begun. Crews are working along Adams Lane and should be entering into the Front Road corridor by the end of August. At that time there will be a two-day intersection closure at Front Road and Adams Lane. For more information and updates, visit our Public Works Projects page.
Council Meeting Date Change
Save the date for an upcoming change. Due to the need for exclusive use of Council Chambers during the upcoming Municipal By-Election, the Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, 2025, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
Last Call Before Fall
Tickets are on sale now for LaSalle’s Last Call Before Fall, and Saturday night is already over half sold out!
Last Call Before Fall takes place on Friday, September 5, and Saturday, September 6, at the Event Centre at LaSalle Landing. Don’t miss your chance to join the fun, get your tickets today.
