Waves and spray features are turned on periodically throughout this swim for everyone to enjoy. Children 7 years of age and older who pass a swim test can be in the water independently during this swim time. Please review our Pool Admission and Wrist Band Policy for additional admission guidelines. Pre-registration is recommended.

Leisure Swim Definition

A multi-use swim period, consisting of 3 different activities; adult lengths, water walking and shallow end family swimming. Waves, spray features and the waterslide are NOT available during this swim. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied in the water by an adult or guardian and must be within arms reach for the duration of the swim. Pre-registration is recommended.

Admission and Wrist Band Policy

For everyone's safety, the following standard is applied for all swimmers at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex and LaSalle's Outdoor Pool. Parents and guardians are those who are a minimum of 16 years of age and who are responsible for the direct supervision of those they are accompanying. Parents and guardians are responsible for all children under the age of 10 years while in our facilities, and they must supervise them at all times.

Direct supervision means the guardian must be within arms reach of the child at all times.

If the child passes the swim test, they will receive a green wristband.

Water Slide Use

All children must be 7 years and a minimum of 42 inches tall to use the slide.

Accessibility at the Pool

The Vollmer Complex offers options to get into the pool with a lift into the spa, ramp into the main pool, water wheelchairs and slings. Washroom lifts, handicap stalls, and an adult change table with lift and privacy curtain are located in our change rooms.

The Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex requires that high-risk participants (those with serious medical conditions such as seizures, frequent fainting or those with uncontrolled behaviours or impulses) be in the water with an individual informed of the condition and responsible for them. It is also a good idea for those with seizure conditions to wear a lifejacket or a Personal Floatation Device (PFD) at all times while in the pool. PFD's are available free of charge.

Annual Pool Closure

The Vollmer Centre pool will be closed during the month of September to conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of the pool, hot tub and sauna. This yearly maintenance is essential to ensure effective operations of all pool features and components for the public to enjoy. This year the pool will be closed September 3 to 27 and will re-open on September 28, 2024.
